Hi everyone and welcome to Shakespeare Said it Better! If you need a little more Shakespeare in your life, I’d love it if you’d subscribe.
About My Newsletter
Shakespeare doesn’t have to be so serious. Whether you’re a bardolator (one who idolizes Shakespeare) or still scarred from seventh grade English class, there’s something in the cannon for everyone. There are eloquent speeches about the meaning of life intermingled with some truly inventive dick jokes. The guy had range.
In this newsletter, I’ll pull phrases from the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (doesn’t that sound fancy), give you the context for them, offer some (hopefully) humorous examples of how to use them in every day life, and offer a brief discussion of how those phrases may still clarify our feelings on the human experience today, followed by a short video sketch depicting using the heightened language in mundane situations.
About Me
I’m a writer, performer, and improvisor based in Houston, Texas. I first fell in love with the works of Shakespeare in seventh grade when I decided to perform Lady Macbeth’s soliloquy for the junior high talent show (yes, that was a weird decision). And as much as I love the works, I don’t revere them. It’s ok to take them out of the box and play with them, they won’t lose their value.
